Happy Days Childminding is run from my family home located not far from Fareham Leisure Centre. My aims are for children to be happy, secure and have lots of fun whilst here and to learn and develop in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I am inspected by Ofsted and at my last inspection (2016) received a Good with Outstanding features grade.
I am able to offer funded childcare sessions, which enables parents of eligible 2,3 and 4 year old children to obtain financial subsidy through the Government’s Early Years Education funding initiative (in effect parents can claim up to 15 hours of free childcare per week for 38 weeks per year until the start of school – in an identical way to pre-schools and nurseries)
I understand how difficult it can be for a parent to be sure any childcare option is suitable for their child. To ensure I can offer such an environment it is important that I work in partnership with parents and to help achieve this i provide daily diaries for each child under 5 years of age, newsletters, drop off and handover charts, and am available to speak on the telephone or to meet at a mutually convenient time, should a more lengthy discussion be required.
Since 2008, it is Government Legislation that all young children attending a registered childcare setting are cared for in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage. This covers children from birth to the end of their reception year at school. This ensures that all learning activities are play based and follows children’s individual interests. More informations regarding the EYFS can be found here
Children attending Happy Days in this age group will have a learning journey following their achievements with photos and observations.
In order to keep up-to-date with the ever changing childcare legislation and policies, I continually up-date my professional development through Early Years
Provider Meetings, on-line training courses, webinars etc. I also subscribe
to many early years publications and Ofsted notifications.
